4 RESTAURANTS FOR A WEEKEND GETAWAY IN MYRTLE BEACH

The Myrtle Beach area in South Carolina, also known as The Grand Strand, has so much to offer on a weekend getaway…including an awesome food scene.

Here are 4 restaurants we thoroughly enjoyed on our last visit to this beach town.

1. Hook & Barrel was a delicious choice for dinner during our first night. Reservations are recommended as it can get crowded, even during the off-season.

Their complimentary pimento cheese board was right on time when it came out alongside our wine. The fresh oysters were out of this word – I actually had them as my main meal. The decor was stunning, it gave you that ‘dining under the sea’ feel.

2. Wicked Tuna is located in Murrells Inlet, which is also known as the Seafood Capital of South Carolina. If you are in the mood for sushi, then this is THE SPOT to go to for lunch.

The sushi is some of the best I have ever tasted, melts in your mouth and SUPER fresh. They also have some great shareable options, such as the Wicked Shrimp which came highly recommended by the staff.

3. RipTydz, an oceanfront restaurant, is a great choice for either lunch or dinner.

We stopped in for lunch and enjoyed margarita cocktails as well as their shrimp and grits. I was surprised when I found myself ordering shrimp and grits at the beach, but believe me when I say it was delicious and filling.

4. Blueberry’s Grill was an outstanding choice for breakfast. They open early and have different options on the menu, from omelets to french toast.

The restaurant offers an adorable mimosa flight – a must if you love mimosas for breakfast or brunch. The blueberry french toast was awesome to share while sipping the blueberry mimosa – EVERYTHING BLUEBERRY!

We discovered that the Myrtle Beach area is a great weekend getaway any time of the year. We plan on going back for another foodie trip to try out some other great restaurants.
