Turks and Caicos Islands (aka TCI) is an exhilarating and relaxing travel destination, and the island’s food scene is heavenly. It is a highly sought after spot primarily for those who love to snorkel due to its stunning barrier reef, but it also has so much more to offer for those of us who do not indulge in such water activities. TCI can be a remarkable vacation experience with its beautiful beaches, resorts, people, and overall vibe…and best of all, for its superb foodie scene.
The Palms Resort and Parallel 23
Our favorite resort in TCI is The Palms. Located right on Grace Bay Beach, rated as one of the most beautiful resorts in the world, it offers serenity and the best dining experience. The food was outstanding, from the tuna tostadas by the pool to their amazing on-site restaurant.
Parallel 23, was absolutely divine. Breakfast was heavenly to start each day. We were engulfed with service that felt like royalty each evening at dinner. The chef indulged us with spectacular dishes that most definitely excited our taste buds from beginning to end.
My favorite menu items included the South Caicos Lobster (which I ordered twice by the way) and the Butternut Squash Ravioli. Don’t forget that bread and Caicos Sea Salt butter — out of this world!
Da Conch Shack
There is one particular spot that you cannot not miss when in TCI — Da Conch Shack. This iconic restaurant serves up delicious island fare and has been featured in numerous press releases — including being named as one of the World’s Top 50 Beach Bars. The seafood was delicious and we had fantastic ocean views while dining outdoors.
The conch salad and whole fried fish were both AMAZING along with some island inspired drinks.
Island Drinks Galore
Island drinks were plentiful in TCI. From non-alcoholic refreshing green juices to alcoholic frozen beverages, all were equally refreshing. Any boat tour will most likely include a rum beverage that you can enjoy. If beer is more your style, you can grab one on the beach to enjoy as you lay under the sun and watch the beautiful turquoise waters.
