Savannah – LOVE LOVE LOVE this southern coastal city in Georgia! The food is absolutely amazing, and you can easily eat your way in Savannah during a weekend getaway.
It seems that there is an infinite number of wonderful restaurants to dine in throughout Savannah, but here are our top eateries from our latest visit to help you stay savvy with awesome recommendations.
Starland Strange & Bazaar
Chances are when you visit Savannah it will be HOT and humid outside. If you are looking for a unique and refreshing spot to check out, then Starland Strange & Bazaar is a great spot to grab some delicious ice-cream.
Shaved ice and floats are also available in this cute house turned into an artsy shop. It is open to browse around if you need a little break from walking in Savannah, with cute little unique gifts for purchase.
The ice cream is delicious though – especially that red velvet cone…YUM!
Broken Keel
Another great spot to post up at if looking for drinks and appetizers is Broken Keel on River Street. We love this place not only because it is near the water, but also for their outdoor seating and live music.
Broken Keel offers some of the best frozen cocktails, refreshing and much needed during those hot days in Savannah. Try the pina colada, it was amazing.
Their appetizers are also pretty tasty, such as the fish and chips as well as the chicken bombs.
Huey’s On the River
Another restaurant that comes highly recommended by many in Savannah is Huey’s on the River.
This restaurant is also located on River Street near the water, and the best time to go is early for breakfast or brunch.
They have the MOST AMAZING beignets – a must try along with the praline sauce that is served on the side.
Their fried green tomatoes were also delish, as well as their bloody mary.
Baobab Lounge
Now here’s a place in Savannah that is fairly new and unique – Baobab Lounge.
Located inside the JW Marriot, it was the most beautiful lounge we came across. Their African decor made you feel like you were out of the country, and we loved every minute of their Afrobeats music playing in the background.
Baobab Lounge surprised us with tasty cocktails and menu items. The Savannah Dusk cocktail was incredible!
Our favorite food items, which were all tapas plates fantastic for sharing, included the lamb kebabs, flatbread, and empanadas.
Definitely a must stop if you crave a unique and authentic experience.
